Recommendation of the President on #HPP #48aa – Breast cancer prevention

On 17 December 2024, the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System issued recommendation No. 8/2024 on recommended medical technologies, activities carried out within the framework of health policy programs and the conditions for the implementation of these programs, concerning the prevention of breast cancer

Recommendation includes a model solution for a given health problem – Breast cancer prevention

The recommendation issued exempts local government units from the need to send for an opinion on the health policy program prepared in accordance with its content.

Thus, the recommendation provides a model for the draft programs prepared by local government units for this health problem.

The President of the Agency recommends carrying out the following as part of health policy programs: information and education activities aimed at the general population of women on health-seeking behavior, risk factors, breast cancer prevention activities and the possibility of participating in a centrally coordinated breast cancer screening program, as well as a lifestyle modification intervention aimed at adult women at risk for breast cancer.

Accordingly, as of December 17, 2024, the provisions of Recommendation No. 8/2024 should be taken into account for the preparation of HPP for breast cancer prevention.
