Position of the Transparency Council – Prophylaxis of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in premature infants with birth weight less than 1,500 g using a food for special medical use, a three-strain probiotic product that meets the criteria of the ESPGHAN recommendation

At its meeting on 1 July 2024, the Transparency Council adopted position No. 62/2024 on the legitimacy of the qualification of the health care service “Prophylaxis of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in premature infants with birth weight below 1500 g with the use of food for special medical use, a triple-strain probiotic product meeting the criteria of the ESPGHAN recommendation” as a guaranteed benefit.
