Recommendation of the President on #HPP #48aa – prevention of meningococcal infections
On 31 December 2024, the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System issued recommendation No. 9/2024 on recommended medical technologies, activities carried out within the framework of health policy programs and the conditions for implementation of these programs, concerning the prevention of meningococcal infections
The recommendation contains a model solution for a given health problem – Prevention of meningococcal infections
The recommendation issued exempts TSU from the need to send for an opinion on the health policy program prepared in accordance with its content.
Thus, the recommendation is a model for the draft programs prepared by TSU for this health problem.
The President of the Agency recommends carrying out, as part of health policy programs, information and education activities related to the prevention of meningococcal infections in the general population of adults and schoolchildren, as well as the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease in the form of vaccination in the population of children from 2 m to 5 years of age, and in risk groups.
Accordingly, as of December 31, 2024, in order to prepare PSPs for the prevention of meningococcal infections, the provisions of Recommendation No. 9/2024 should be taken into account, and a statement on the compliance of the draft PSP with this recommendation should be sent to the Agency pursuant to Article 48aa (11) of the Law.
It is not necessary to modify currently implemented PPZs that came into effect before the publication of Recommendation 9/2024. It is not possible to continue future editions of PPZs unchanged.
